HDC Centre for Religious History

Welcome to the website of the HDC Centre for Religious History. The HDC Centre for Religious History is the platform for research, education, and valorisation in the field of the history of religion at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

The HDC uses an interdisciplinary approach to the history of religion in relation to culture, politics and society. A multitude of senior and junior fellows affiliated with the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, both national and international, work together and gather at the centre.

The HDC would like to welcome you to its monthly open research seminar (see Agenda > Upcoming Events).

The HDC Centre for Religious History is a fusion of the Historisch Documentatiecentrum voor het Nederlandse Protestantisme (1800-heden) and the Amsterdam Centre for Religious History. See also the website www.hdc.vu.nl, in particular for information on the Collectie HDC | Protestants Erfgoed in the Universiteitsbibliotheek VU.
